SALFORD, GREATER MANCHESTER – The MS Society is inviting the local community to a multiple sclerosis (MS) Information Day held at the Copthorne Hotel in Salford Quays on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
The event will feature special guest and MS Society Ambassador Kerry Riches who made history in 2023 as the first wheelchair user to enter the Big Brother house. Diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS seventeen years ago, Kerry calls MS her ‘superpower’ and will be on-site to share her experiences with the MS community.

The afternoon is designed for anyone living with MS, their families, friends and carers. Attendees can expect a comprehensive programme including:
- Expert Insight: Talks on the latest MS research and developments in treatments.
- Wellbeing & Activities: Taster sessions for activities such as yoga and seated dance.
- Support Marketplace: Stalls from various organisations offering accessible exercise classes, complementary therapies and specific support for carers.
- Community Connection: Opportunities to meet local MS support groups and others navigating similar journeys.
Paul Smithson, Community Development Senior Officer for the MS Society, says: “We are delighted to have Kerry join us for this important event. Her passion for raising awareness helps us reach the 150,000 people in the UK living with MS, ensuring they know they aren’t alone and that support is available right here in Greater Manchester”.
The event is free to attend but as spaces are limited, advanced booking is essential.
