Two teenagers taken to hospital after moped crash in Clifton

Two teenagers were taken to hospital after a crash involving a moped and a what is said to be a taxi on a residential street in Clifton.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2:35pm this afternoon (14th April) on Rake Lane in Clifton following reports of a collision involving two youths travelling on the same moped.

Paramedics treated both teenagers at the roadside before they were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out initial enquiries, with disruption reported on nearby roads as the scene was dealt with.

The air ambulance is said to have been deployed to the scene but we are told it was later stood down.

Greater Manchester Police said enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a moped. Two people have been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage is being urged to contact police via 101.

No arrests have been made so far.
