SPORTS, SNAKES AND SOAK A TEACHER AT ACADEMY FUN DAY

The rain stayed away, the wind died down and even the sun made a brief appearance with a bit of blue sky – That made the Irlam and Cadishead Academy Community Fun Day a great place to be!

It was the Academy’s biggest event to date with plenty of stalls, activities and entertainment for all ages to have a go at.

With the Northwest Fun Fair providing all day fun rides, other activities included rugby league with the Salford Rugby Foundation, basketball, speed-shot football with the Manchester United Foundation, Chat Moss Farm Project, Jamie Horrocks Trust, scouts stall, a PTA Café, police and fire vehicles, DJ, crazy golf, magician and juggling skills along with community stalls and attractions. Including a whole host of creatures at the Creepy Crawlies stand including snakes, giant tortoises and even spiders.

Highlights for many was the ‘Soak a teacher’, where for just £1 there was the chance to chuck a very wet sponge at a member of the Irlam and Cadishead Academy staff, including Principal Chris Leader, who sportingly joined in the fun!

A great day that the school is looking to build on going forward.
