People from across Salford are being invited to come together for a day of creativity, conversation and community spirit at Salford’s Great Get Together next summer.
The event will take place at ECHO, Eccles Community Hall, on Friday, 19 June 2026, from 11am to 3.30pm, bringing residents together to celebrate kindness, connection and the power of community.
Inspired by the legacy of Jo Cox and the national Great Get Together movement, the event aims to help people build new friendships, strengthen local relationships and discover ways to get involved in their communities.
Organisers say the day is open to everyone, whether they have lived in Salford for years or have only recently moved to the area. Visitors can take part in a range of creative activities, meet local groups and organisations, and enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
The event will explore how creativity can help bring people together, encouraging conversations and shared experiences that help create stronger, more connected communities.
A free lunch will be provided, giving attendees another chance to sit down together, meet new people and enjoy the day’s activities.
Organisers are encouraging people to bring their curiosity, ideas and community spirit, and to share the invitation with friends, neighbours and local groups.
The Great Get Together is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026 and continues to honour Jo Cox’s belief that communities are strongest when people come together and celebrate what they have in common.
