A special comedy night celebrating the contribution of women over the past century is heading to Salford this summer, with free tickets now available.
The “We Are Salford Centenary Comedy Night” will take place at Salford Arts Theatre on Friday 12 June, bringing together humour, storytelling and performance to mark 100 years of women’s voices and achievements.
Organised by the University of Salford in partnership with the theatre, the event aims to shine a light on the role women have played in shaping both comedy and the wider community, while giving audiences a night that is as uplifting as it is entertaining.
The show will feature a mix of performances reflecting different eras and experiences, celebrating the legacy of women in comedy alongside fresh and local talent. Organisers say the evening is designed to be inclusive, accessible and full of energy, with laughter at the heart of the celebration.
Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm. Entry is free, but tickets must be booked in advance due to limited capacity.
The event takes place at Salford Arts Theatre, on Kemsing Walk off Tunbridge Square, just off Liverpool Street.
