Salford residents are being invited to take part in a major new arts project celebrating the city and its people as part of Salford’s centenary year.
Salford Everywhere, led by Creative Producers From The Other, will bring together local people from across the city to create a large-scale living video portrait of Salfordians.
The project is being created in collaboration with award-winning artist Matthew Rosier, whose work combines film, sound and community storytelling. The wider creative team also includes Music Direction by AFRODEUTSCHE, Movement Direction by Company Chameleon and videography by Izzy Pie.
The finished artwork will be projected onto buildings across the city during a special public event taking place this autumn.
As part of the project, residents attending We Invented the Weekend festival are being encouraged to get involved by taking part in free drop-in filming sessions.
The sessions will take place on Saturday 6 June from 2pm until 4pm at The Open Centre, located within the front of the Studios building at MediaCity.
Organisers say the project aims to celebrate the people, communities and stories that make Salford unique.
The event is free to attend and no booking is required.
