Pair Face Court Over Alleged Attempted Robbery in Swinton

Two men from Little Hulton have been charged with a number of offences following an alleged attempted robbery at a venue in Swinton.

Thomas King, 60, of Claremont Drive, Little Hulton, and Keith Harrison, 52, of Buile Hill Avenue, Little Hulton, have both been charged with attempted robbery, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit a robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a baseball bat.

Harrison has also been charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and possession of a Class B drug.

The charges relate to an alleged attempted robbery at the Masonic Hall on Hospital Road, Swinton, on May 27.

Both men have been bailed and are due to appear at court on a future date.

As criminal proceedings are now active, the defendants are entitled to a fair trial and reporting restrictions apply.
