A major milestone has been reached for the Brookhouse & Peel Green Pride in Place Programme with the appointment of Jon Odukoya as Chair of the newly established Pride in Place Board.
The announcement marks a significant step forward in ensuring local people are at the heart of decisions that will shape the future of their community. Interviews for Neighbourhood Board members will commence over the coming weeks, with an announcement of the full Board membership coming soon.
The Pride in Place Board will play a vital role in overseeing the development of a long-term vision for Brookhouse & Peel Green, helping to ensure that investment is directed towards the priorities that matter most to local residents.

Welcoming the appointment, Michael Wheeler MP for Worsley & Eccles said:
“I am delighted to have Jon as the Chair of the Peel Green & Brookhouse Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board. Jon brings a wide range of experience and skills to this important role and a real commitment to making this community the best possible place to live, work and grow up. The Board will also benefit from the appointment of Andy Higgins as Vice Chair.

The Pride in Place Programme is a significant long-term Government investment. The programme will provide up to £20 million in funding over the next decade for Brookhouse & Peel Green.
At its core, Pride in Place is designed to put decision-making power directly into the hands of local people. Communities will define their own long-term ambitions and priorities, supported by flexible funding that can be tailored to address local challenges and opportunities.
For Brookhouse & Pell Green, the establishment of the Pride in Place Board represents the beginning of a new chapter, one where residents will have a direct role in shaping how investment is used to create lasting improvements and a stronger future for the area.
