Man Seriously Injured After Early-Morning Pub Assault in Irlam

Police are appealing for information after a man was left with potentially life-threatening injuries following an assault outside the Dessie’s Place pub on Liverpool Road in Irlam.

Officers were called to the scene at around 2:51am on Sunday, 29 March, after reports of a disturbance involving several men.

It is understood that during the incident, one male sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that officers are working quickly to establish exactly what happened.

A cordon remains in place along Liverpool Road, with road closures affecting the surrounding area while investigations continue. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and plan alternative routes.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident—or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time—to come forward.
