The hit Disney musical is coming to Salford next summer as the full cast is unveiled for the first UK non-replica production of High School Musical.
The full cast has been announced for Disney’s High School Musical, which will open at The Lowry this summer before transferring to London.
The much-loved stage adaptation of the Disney Channel phenomenon will run in Salford from 22 August to 19 September 2026, bringing the halls of East High to Salford Quays as part of the show’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Leading the cast at The Lowry will be actor and singer Jason Donovan as Coach Bolton. He will perform throughout the Salford run until Friday 18 September before the production moves to London, where the role will be taken over by Harry Judd.
Disney fans will also be excited to see original movie star KayCee Stroh, who played Martha Cox in the films, returning to the High School Musical universe as drama teacher Ms Darbus.
The production stars Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton and Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, alongside Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans.
Joining them are Char Burnett as Taylor McKessie, Jordan Benjamin as Chad Danforth, Simeon Beckett as Zeke Baylor, Olivia O’Connor as Martha Cox, Yna Tresvalles as Kelsi Nielson and Curtis Patrick as Jack Scott.
Packed with fan-favourite songs including Breaking Free, We’re All In This Together, Get’cha Head in the Game and Stick to the Status Quo, the stage musical is based on the hugely successful 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie that inspired a generation of fans.
The show is being co-directed by Hope Mill Theatre founders Joseph Houston and William Whelton, with choreography by Aaron Renfree.
Since its debut in 2006, High School Musical has become one of Disney’s most successful stage properties, with productions performed across the world. This latest version marks the first UK non-replica production, offering audiences a fresh take on the beloved musical.
