A very successful Junior Darts Academy in Irlam have teamed up with one of the World leading Darts Equipment suppliers, that has enabled them to support fantastic opportunities in the World of Darts for local young players stepping up to the Oche.
The Irlam Steel Darts Academy based at the Irlam Steel Club on Liverpool Road were delighted to welcome Target Ambassador and Professional PDC Darts Player James Beeton who earlier this year celebrated his first PDC Tournament title and Sean Casey-Poole the Global Academy and Tournament Manager for Target one of the leading darts equipment brands in the World.
Sean said, “Target aims to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to develop themselves as well as their darts. We know that academies like this one at Irlam Steel Club are offering more than just darts, they offer a level of community and the chance to learn social skills as well as maths skills in a fun and safe environment.”

Sean added, “Working closely with academies allows us to provide them with free equipment and support to help them grow within their areas and offer more opportunities to even more young people. It always one of the driving ambitions at Target to find that next champion.”
That has included providing the Irlam Steel Darts Academy with eight brand new darts boards, along with board rings, lights, mats, darts and a fantastic Omni Scoring System.

Darts Pro James Beeton was delighted to be at Irlam Steel Club he added, “I started playing darts at the age of 10 when my dad bought a dartboard, I also played football and like cricket and snooker but went down the darts route and have not looked back. I reckon anyone can have the skills and talent to become a top darts player, but you need to put the time and effort in. A good two hours of darts each day is a good way of honing those skills.”
