Police have launched an investigation following an attempted robbery at a hall in Swinton which left one person with minor injuries.
Officers were called to the incident at around 11.30am on Tuesday 27 May after three males entered the Masonic Hall on Hospital Road, Swinton, and allegedly threatened people attending an event while demanding goods.
During the incident, an altercation took place between one of the suspects and a member of the public. A BB gun, believed to have been used during the attempted robbery, was recovered at the scene.
One member of the public suffered minor injuries, though no serious injuries were reported.
No arrests have yet been made and enquiries remain ongoing as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Inspector Paul Davies from Greater Manchester Police said: “This was a terrifying incident for those in attendance at the hall, and I want to commend the members of the public who acted incredibly bravely during this incident.
“We could easily have had more serious consequences, and I am glad that no-one was seriously injured.
“While only several hours have passed since this incident, we have launched a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances, and I would urge anyone who has any information to please get in touch.”
