A brand-new British musical telling the remarkable story of self-made businessman Dave Fishwick is set to make its world premiere at The Lowry this spring.
Bank of Dave The Musical will open on 2 May 2026 and run until 16 May, bringing a feel-good, Northern-rooted story to the Salford stage before transferring to Leicester.
The production stars Sam Lupton in the lead role of Dave Fishwick, joined by a strong supporting cast including Samuel Holmes, Hayley Tamaddon and Lucca Chadwick-Patel.
Based on the true story of Burnley entrepreneur Dave Fishwick, the show follows his battle against the traditional banking system after he sets up his own community-focused bank to help local people and small businesses. The story has already found success as a bestselling book, documentary and hit Netflix film — now reimagined for the stage with original music and lyrics.

The musical features a book by Rob Madge and music by Pippa Cleary, with direction from Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster. Producers say the show blends humour, heart and a strong social message, capturing what they describe as “a home-grown British musical bursting with northern grit.”
Audiences can expect an uplifting underdog story, charting Dave’s journey from Burnley to London as he takes on powerful financial institutions in a bid to create a fairer system.
Following its Salford run, the production will move to Curve Leicester from 20–30 May.
