A full weekend of music, arts and community events is set to take place across Eccles, with a packed programme lined up for Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.
Running throughout the festival week, commuters passing through Eccles Train Station can experience Train Dreaming by Lowri Evans, an installation bringing colourful, uplifting visuals to the platform alongside live performances from The Barton Belles every 15 minutes.
Saturday, March 28
Events begin at Eccles Parish Church, St Mary’s from 11am to 3pm, with the Salford Badge Club hosting a hands-on workshop to create wearable art, alongside a family craft session making ‘stained glass’ designs.
Live music at St Mary’s includes Séamus Óg performing between 11:30am and 12pm, followed by Amba Strings at 12:30pm and 1:30pm.
Later, Eccles Town Hall will host a major концерт at 4pm, featuring Lauren Auder, Naima Bock and R.Aggs as part of the 6 Music Festival, with additional tickets recently released.
Evening entertainment continues at 96 Degrees Eccles, with The Greek Folks Band performing at 7:30pm, Paul Wright at 8:30pm, and The Mollies closing the night at 9:30pm.
Sunday, March 29
Sunday’s events begin at Eccles Town Hall with The Musical Story of the Gingerbread Man at 10:15am and 11:15am, an interactive children’s performance featuring musicians from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Both shows are now fully booked.
From 11am to 4pm, Church Street will host an Independent Street Artisan Market, showcasing local businesses and makers.
At 2pm to 4pm, Eccles Community Chess Club will welcome UK Grandmaster Danny Gormally for a special tandem chess simul alongside Candidate Master Mike Surtees.
Back at Eccles Town Hall, Music Through The Ages will run from 3:30pm to 5:45pm, featuring performances from bands of all ages linked to The Music Shed.
Meanwhile, The Lamb Hotel will host “Bandeoke” from 3:30pm to 6pm, giving visitors the chance to sing with a live band.
The weekend concludes with a guided photowalk around Eccles town centre at 6:30pm, led by photographer Simon Buckley (Not Quite Light), which has already sold out.
Organisers say the weekend-long programme offers something for everyone, celebrating Eccles’ creative community with a mix of live music, family activities, markets and cultural events.
