The body of a teenage boy has been recovered from the water at Clifton Country Park in Swinton following a major emergency response.
Emergency services were called to the country park at 4.51pm on Saturday, 27 June, after reports that a 15-year-old boy had got into difficulty in the water.
Greater Manchester Police worked alongside Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service in the search operation over the weekend.
On Monday, 29 June, officers confirmed that a body had been located in the water and recovered by the North West Under Water Search and Marine Unit.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but specialist officers are supporting the boy’s family.
Detective Inspector Dave Ogden, of Salford CID, said: “Saturday’s incident is truly heart breaking, and my thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of the young boy who has so tragically lost his life.
“While we are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances, this incident is an incredibly upsetting reminder of the serious risks associated with open water.
“We understand people want to make the most of the warm weather, but we would urge everyone to stay safe and avoid entering reservoirs, rivers, canals or ponds.
“Please take care and enjoy the weather in a safe way.”
Greater Manchester Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
The tragedy comes during a period of hot weather, with police once again urging people to stay out of open water due to the hidden dangers posed by reservoirs, rivers, canals and ponds.
An investigation into the incident will continue on behalf of the coroner.
