Drivers and residents are being advised that Frederick Road in Salford will be fully closed for five days later this month to allow essential works linked to the Salford Rise project.
The closure will be in place from Monday 25 May until Friday 29 May between Lissadel Street and Leslie Hough Way.
According to project organisers, the temporary closure is needed to safely install the Salford Rise balustrade, while teams also carry out cleaning and inspection works on the bridge beams.
A signed diversion route will be in operation throughout the closure period. Motorists will be directed via Lissadel Street, Cromwell Road, Gerald Road and Seaford Road before rejoining Frederick Road. The diversion will operate in both directions.
Pedestrian access will remain available during the works via Broughton Road East.
Residents, commuters and businesses in the area are being encouraged to plan journeys in advance and allow extra travel time while the works are completed.
The Salford Rise scheme is part of wider regeneration and connectivity improvements in the area, designed to better link communities around the university and Crescent corridor.
More information about the project can be found via the official update page.
