Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir to perform at Eccles Town Hall

Music lovers in Eccles and beyond are being invited to enjoy an evening of “Music and Mirth” as the Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir joins forces with the Bridgend Male Voice Choir for a special concert at Eccles Town Hall this weekend.

The concert takes place on Saturday, May 16, with doors opening at 6.45pm ahead of a 7.30pm start. Tickets are priced at £10 and will be available on the door.

The Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir, made up of retired police officers and civilian members from across the region, has been entertaining audiences since it was founded in 1974. Over the years the choir has performed throughout the UK and overseas, appearing at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

The choir is well known for supporting charities and community organisations through its performances and has built a strong reputation across Greater Manchester for its lively concerts and traditional male voice choir sound.

Joining them for the Eccles performance will be the Bridgend Male Voice Choir, promising a packed programme of popular songs, choral classics and audience favourites.

The event will be held at Eccles Town Hall.

The choir also encourages new singers to get involved. The Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir says it is actively welcoming new members, with no police background required and no audition necessary. The group says it is open to men aged 18 and over who simply enjoy singing and meeting new people. New recruits are also offered a free first month of rehearsals to try the choir out.
