Your Party Salford has issued a heartfelt message of thanks to residents who supported the party and its independent candidates in this year’s local elections.
The group, which contested its first ever local elections across Salford, said it was proud to offer voters what it described as a “genuine independent alternative” focused on representing local people and communities.
In a statement released following the elections, the party said every vote received was “hugely appreciated” and would help build momentum for future campaigns across the city.
Your Party Salford said: “As a party standing in our first local elections, we are proud to have given residents across Salford the opportunity to support a genuine independent alternative focused on representing local people and communities.
“Every vote cast for Your Party and our Independent candidates is hugely appreciated and provides a strong foundation to continue building our presence across the city.”
The party added that it hopes more residents will come to recognise its message and values ahead of future elections.
The statement also paid tribute to veteran Salford councillor John Warmisham, recognising his 35 years of service to the city, something we ourselves agree with.
Mr Warmisham, who previously represented the Labour Party, stood in Weaste and Seedley Ward as a Your Party candidate after leaving Labour, saying he felt the party had “lost its moral compass”.
Your Party Salford praised his continued dedication to local communities and public service.
The statement continued: “John has been an outstanding councillor whose hard work, dedication and commitment to residents have earned him enormous respect over many years of service.
“His contribution to the city and its people has been immense, and we know his experience, input and tireless work ethic will be greatly missed.”
The party said it remains committed to listening to residents and providing an independent voice for communities across Salford.
