A brand-new comedy festival is heading to Eccles this summer, bringing some of the UK’s brightest up-and-coming stand-up stars to the stage at The Lamb Hotel.
The Lamb Hotel Comedy Festival will run every Thursday throughout July, featuring live work-in-progress performances from award-nominated comedians, TV performers and rising acts from across the comedy circuit.
The month-long event has grown out of the popular Heckles in Eccles comedy nights and aims to give local audiences the chance to catch comedians before they hit the national spotlight.
Among the names appearing during the festival are BBC New Comedy Award finalist Anna Thomas, ISH Edinburgh Comedy Award nominees Alex Kitson and Tim Biglowe, double Malcolm Hardee Award nominee Stephen Catling and So You Think You’re Funny finalist Justina Seselskaite. Audiences will also be able to see Eryn Tett, who has appeared on U&Dave.
Organisers say the line-up focuses on comedians “right on the edge of breaking through”, bringing future festival favourites to Eccles in an intimate venue setting.
The full line-up includes:
• Thursday, July 2 – Aaron Wood and Alex Kitson
• Thursday, July 9 – Shaun Guff and Eryn Tett
• Thursday, July 16 – Justina Seselskaite and Stephen Catling
• Thursday, July 23 – Anna Thomas and Stuart Thomas
• Thursday, July 30 – El Purnell and Tim Biglowe
Each evening will feature two full work-in-progress shows, giving comedy fans a first look at brand-new material ahead of larger festival runs later in the year.
The festival will take place at The Lamb Hotel.
Tickets go on sale from 9pm on May 7 and will be available through the Heckles in Eccles social media pages, online via WeGotTickets and behind the bar at the venue.
