A man has been arrested after police were called to reports of threats being made on Northumberland Street in Salford late on Wednesday evening.
According to Greater Manchester Police, officers were called to the scene at around 10:37pm on Wednesday 6 May 2026 following reports of threatening behaviour.
A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Superintendent Yanica Weir said: “We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and intimidation against any members of our community. We will come after offenders.”
Police are continuing their enquiries and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
